Once we read a book which we really love, we wish to read it all over again for the first time…which isn’t really possible. So our best shot is reading books which share a similar plotline and complexities. So here is our list of 5 popular books and books which are similar to them.


1. Popular Book: Verity by Colleen Hoover

Author: Daphne Du Maurier


Rebecca is a gothic novel which is narrated by an unnamed young woman who serves as the novel’s protagonist. She meets and falls in love with Maxim de Winter, a wealthy widower, while working as a companion to a wealthy woman in Monte Carlo. After a brief courtship, the young woman marries Maxim and moves in with him. However, she soon realises the shadow of Maxim’s deceased first wife, Rebecca, looms over their estate. Rebecca who was beautiful and seemingly perfect in every way made the new Mrs. de Winter feel insecure and inadequate. As Mrs. de Winter tries to adjust to her new life and role as the lady of the house, she is haunted by Rebecca's memory.

The novel is renowned for its atmospheric and vivid descriptions, complex characters, and enduring impact of Rebecca’s presence long after her death.


2. Popular Book: The Selection by Kiera Cass


Author: Sorata Akizuki


This is a Japanese manga and anime series and is set in a fictional kingdom and follows the adventures of Shirayuki, a young herbalist with unique red hair that attracts attention wherever she goes. Shirayuki’s peaceful life is disrupted when the prince of her kingdom, Prince Raji becomes infatuated with her and orders her to become concubine. Determined to maintain her freedom and independence, Shirayuki escapes to a neighbouring kingdom.

The series explores Shirayuki's journey as she navigates her budding romance with Zen while facing various challenges and adventures."Snow White with the Red Hair" is known for its blend of romance, fantasy, and adventure. The story emphasizes themes of self-discovery, personal growth, and the power of inner strength.


3. Popular Book: Slammed by Colleen Hoover


Author: Kate Elizabeth Russel


It is a contemporary novel that explores the complex and controversial themes of power, manipulation and consent. The story follows the protagonist, Venessa Wye, as she reflects on her past relationships with her high school English teacher, Jacob Strane.

The novel alternates between Vanessa's teenage years in the early 2000s and her adulthood in 2017. As a teenager, Vanessa becomes involved in a secretive and manipulative relationship with Strane, who is significantly older than her.
